Who we are
Powerplant Company BV, Van Asch van Wijckstraat 55, 3811 LP Amersfoort, the Netherlands, is responsible for processing your personal data as described in this statement. For questions about your data, email info@powerplantcompany.nl.
What data we process
When you sign up for our newsletter or community. Your email address and the role you choose: trainee, project lead or client. If you sign up through aanmelden.powerplantcompany.nl, also your first name, last name, the sectors you are interested in and any notes you add yourself. We use this to send you updates about job openings, events and stories from the field. We do not track whether you open our newsletter or click on links. With your consent, we track whether you open our newsletter and which links you click on.
When you contact us. Your name, email address or phone number and what you tell us, so we can answer your question.
When you come into view as a candidate. Your CV as we receive it, and the profile we create from it: your name, date of birth, nationality, photo, job title, education, languages, knowledge and certificates (such as a driving licence), skills, work experience and previous assignments with employer, location and period. The profile is in Dutch and English. We use this to introduce you to clients.
On every visit to the website. Your IP address, technical details about your browser and the pages you request, because our server records them. This keeps the site running and secure and helps us find faults.
Visitor statistics. We count visits with Umami: which pages are viewed, which website you came from, and your country, browser and type of device. Umami does not use cookies, does not store IP addresses and records nothing that identifies you as a person. This shows us which pages people find useful.
You are not required to give us any data. Without an email address we cannot send you the newsletter, and without a CV or profile details we cannot introduce you to clients.
Where we get your data
Usually we receive your data from you. Sometimes we receive your CV through someone else, for example a client, someone in our network or a public profile such as LinkedIn. In that case we let you know within one month that we have your data, where it came from and what we do with it, and in any case at our first contact and before we share your profile with a client.
Reading your CV with AI
When we receive your CV, we have the full file read by an AI service from OpenAI. It turns the CV into a draft profile in Dutch and English. A Powerplant employee checks and corrects that profile before it is used. OpenAI does not use your data to train its models and does not store your CV in our account. To detect abuse, OpenAI may keep the data for up to 30 days.
There is no automated decision-making or profiling. The AI only reads your CV. People assess and decide.
Candidate profiles and the PDF profile
For candidates we place, we create a profile that we can share as a PDF with a client. It contains the profile details listed above.
We only share that profile after agreeing it with you, and we record when you consented to it. [DECIDE: consent in advance or agreed each time, and how it is recorded] Please keep in mind that a shared document then remains with the recipient: we can no longer retrieve it or have it deleted.
We keep track of who within Powerplant downloads a PDF profile, with date and time. This lets us check who shared your profile.
On what basis we use your data
- Newsletter and community: with your consent. You can unsubscribe at any time.
- Placement you ask us for: because it is necessary for the service you request from us.
- Candidates whose CV we receive through others: our legitimate interest in finding suitable candidates for our clients. You can always object to this.
- Sharing your profile with a client: with your consent.
- Contact: our legitimate interest in answering your question.
- Server logs: our legitimate interest in keeping the website secure and running.
- Visitor statistics: our legitimate interest in improving the website.
Who we share data with
We do not sell your data. We work with these parties, which process your data only on our instructions:
- Koktail (the Netherlands): building and maintaining the website, and the visitor statistics, which run on a server in Germany.
- Hetzner (Germany): hosting of the website, the database and the backups.
- OpenAI (United States): reading CVs.
- Mailchimp (Intuit, United States): sending the newsletter.
- Microsoft: our email.
We share only candidate profiles with clients, and only after agreeing it with the candidate.
Transfers outside the European Union. OpenAI processes CVs in the United States. This is based on the standard contractual clauses of the European Commission, which are included in our data processing agreement with OpenAI. Mailchimp and Microsoft are also American companies. Data that reaches them may be processed in the United States. Both are certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, for which the European Commission has decided that it provides an adequate level of protection.
How long we keep data
- Newsletter: until you unsubscribe.
- Candidate profile and CV:12 months after the last contact, and longer only if you agree.
- Overview of downloaded PDF profiles: as long as your profile exists.
- Email and other correspondence: as long as needed to handle your question.
- Server logs: retention period, 14 days
Deleted data disappears from our backups within five weeks.
Cookies and local storage
We do not place analytics or tracking cookies and do not follow you across other websites. Our visitor statistics also work without cookies. If you choose a language yourself, your browser remembers that choice locally. Employees who log in to our management system receive a login cookie. All of this is needed to make the website work, which is why we do not ask for consent.
Your rights
You may ask us which data we hold about you, and you may have it corrected or deleted. You can ask us to restrict the processing, to receive your data in a common file format or to have it transferred to someone else, and you can object to its use. If you gave consent, you can withdraw it at any time. That applies from that moment and does not change what we did with your data before.
Send your request to info@powerplantcompany.nl. We respond within one month. For a complex request this can be extended by two months, and we will then let you know within the first month. If you disagree with how we handle your data, you can file a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).
Changes
We update this statement when our website or services change. The date at the top shows when that last happened.
